Andrew Fort B.A. (Econ.) MIFPDip APFS Certified and Chartered Financial Planner
Andrew has been practising as an Independent Financial Adviser for over 30 years. He was educated at Sherborne's Abbey and Fosters School, Christ's Hospital and Manchester University, before successfully training as a State Registered Nurse.
In 1982 he was co-founder, with his father, of Harry Fort Insurance Brokers. In 2005 Andrew set up Fort Financial Planning which he runs from a purpose-built office in the grounds of his home. In October 2007 Andrew decided to concentrate solely on Fort Financial Planning.
In addition to an honours degree in Economics, Andrew is also a member of the Society of Financial Advisers, having passed his advanced Financial Planning Certificate.
Andrew is one of a very small band of Independent Financial Advisers to hold both the internationally recognised Certified Financial Planner (CFPcm) and Chartered Financial Planner qualifications.
Mark Salter MCSI DipPFS
Director and Financial Planner
Mark has been working with Andrew Fort for over 20 years and joined FFP when the company was set up in 2004. In April 2016 Mark became a Director and Shareholder in Fort Financial Planning and now spends the majority of his time with clients and providing lifestyle financial planning.
Mark holds a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and is a Pension Transfer Specialist. He is also qualified to provide advice on Long Term Care planning and is now working to become a Certified Financial Planner.
Mark has always been a keen sportsman and after 20 years of being a semi-professional footballer, he is now spending more time keeping up his fitness and spending time with his family.
Emily Flynn BA Hons DipPFS
Paraplanner & Operations Director
Emily joined FFP in May 2012 after graduating from Oxford Brookes University with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Business and Marketing Management. Emily continued her education at FFP and has achieved a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
Emily’s Paraplanner role is sandwiched between our Financial Planners and Administrators. She helps prepare for meetings and undertakes research to develop financial plans. Emily also works with the administrators to ensure recommendations are implemented in a timely manner.
In addition to her Paraplanner role Emily supports the running of the business and is responsible for looking after our company accounts and finances.
Outside work, Emily enjoys running, cycling and swimming.
Becky Rogers FPFS
Becky joined FFP team in June 2018 as a paraplanner, having worked previously for a large financial planning & accountancy firm for the past 6 years.
During that time she completed her professional qualifications and now holds the advanced diploma in financial planning and PFS Fellowship.
Becky enjoys spending her free time with her young family, as well as long walks with a very lively Springer Spaniel.
Siân Gates ACSI Cert CII (FS)
Siân joined FFP in October 2016 having previously worked within the Financial Services industry. Since joining FFP, Siân has obtained her Certificate in Regulated Financial Services operations with the CII. Siân is working towards her Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning whilst also training within the firm to become a Paraplanner.
Siân moved to Dorset from her childhood home in the Midlands in 2012 and outside of work she enjoys attending live music concerts, travelling, eating out and spending time with her family and friends.
Chris is Andrew's wife. She is both a qualified PE teacher and a secretary and she previously ran her own business, a Playschool, for seven years.
In July 2007 as Fort Financial Planning was expanding and the workload was increasing Andrew and Chris decided it would be a good time to put the secretarial skills into use again.
Chris is responsible for looking after our monthly accounts and she monitors the company finances.
Sam joined FFP in September 2014, after working for her previous company for 9 years, starting as Sales Office Junior and progressing to Director's PA.
Sam works closely with the Paraplanners to ensure our Easy Implementation Process™ is completed efficiently; working with providers on a daily basis to implement our recommendations.
Sam also utilises her PA skills to ensure the smooth running of our office.
Sam enjoys spending time with her friends and family and travelling. Since joining FFP Sam has a new found love for spinning.
Philippa joined the FFP team in March 2018 having previously worked as a marketing assistant for a Project management training company. Prior to this, she worked as a Financial advisor for the Lloyds Banking group for over 17 years.
Philippa will be working closely with Sam and the Paraplanners to assist with our Easy Implementation Process™, whilst ensuring that the company’s core values are always delivered.
In her spare time, Philippa still swims competitively in masters events across the country and enjoys watching both of her sons play rugby for Sherborne RFC.
Trainee Financial Planner
Dan joined the FFP team in August 2019 with the ambition of becoming a trainee Financial Planner and will be working towards his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
He has joined us straight from school having just completed his A-levels for which he studied Maths, Economics and Law.
Dan has started his training with the administration team, learning the foundation of how the office is run. He will also play a key role in making the Easy Implementation Process™ as smooth and stress free as possible for FFP’s clients.
In his spare time, Dan plays football at a local level and when he is not playing then he’ll be watching Yeovil Town.
